Testing Maintenance Ticket Completeness
A field-level method for checking whether a maintenance ticket carries the evidence a vendor needs.

Method
Choose one work order as the unit. Define the required fields: symptom, location, access, photo, approval limit, and owner.
Sample tickets across property types and vendors. Include tickets that were reopened or escalated.
Score each field as present, accurate, or missing. Do not accept a free-text description as a substitute for a photo when the policy requires one.
Review the downstream effect: repeat visit, vendor callback, or guest complaint. A complete ticket should reduce those events.
Report the sample size, field completeness, and the most common missing field with its owner.
Findings
Access instructions are the most frequently missing field in remote-coordinated repairs.
Photo evidence is often present but undated, which weakens later review.
Reopened tickets are a useful signal of an incomplete first record.
Field standards must be written before the sample or the review measures reviewer preference.
